Sin and love and fear are just sounds that people who never sinned nor loved nor feared have for what they never had and cannot have until they forget the words.

Words such as love and fear can remain empty for someone who has never felt them. The passage sets naming an experience against actually living it. Forgetting the labels becomes a way of meeting the feeling itself.
