Dr. Frank-N-Furter

Don't dream it, be it.

— The Rocky Horror Picture Show • 1975

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

Frank's whole philosophy fits in five words: do not imagine the person you want to be, become them. It is the film's tagline and the cry of its midnight-screening culture, where audiences dress as the characters and act along with the film. The line says that fantasy is not a rehearsal.
