That little droid's gonna cause me a lot of trouble.
— Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope ‧ 1977
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker expects a small droid to bring substantial trouble. Calling it “little” makes a contrast with the size of the anticipated problem. The line expresses an unfavourable prediction about what lies ahead, without explaining what the droid will do or why it seems troublesome.
