Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

Calling an activity wasted time usually dismisses its value, but the line makes enjoyment count in its favour. Pleasure changes the judgment without requiring a productive result. Its wordplay challenges an account of time that has no room for the value of simply enjoying it.
