The calm delivery is the point, the command of someone who no longer needs to shout. Fans quote it for any epic beat of recruitment or comeback, and the line made the shadow-army fantasy the thing most people remember about the series.

The word is the command word of Sung Jinwoo's Shadow Extraction skill in Solo Leveling. In the 2024 anime (A-1 Pictures) it lands in episode 12, which is simply titled "Arise" (Japan 30 March 2024; the English dub 13 April 2024). Deep in the double dungeon's throne room Jinwoo has defeated Blood-Red Commander Igris, but waves of knights keep coming and he is out of mana and stamina. After the Job Change quest reveals the hidden Necromancer class, he turns to the fallen Igris and commands him to rise as a shadow soldier. Igris becomes the first member of his shadow army. The webtoon's equivalent is chapter 45, where Igris joins after repeated failed extractions.
