Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead • 1967
All your life you live so close to the truth, it becomes a permanent blur in the corner of your eye, and when something nudges it into outline it is like being ambushed by a grotesque.
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
We live so near the truth that it's just a smudge at the edge of vision. Then something pushes it into focus and it looks monstrous. The shock comes from suddenly seeing sharp what we'd learned to ignore.
