Things have dropped from me. I have outlived certain desires; I have lost friends, some by death… others through sheer inability to cross the street.

What it means
Our interpretation.
Someone is taking stock of getting older: old wants have faded, and friends have gone, some through death and some for a far more mundane reason, being unable to cross the street. The dry twist makes drifting apart feel both funny and sad.
