Brick

It's time to bleed!

— Borderlands ‧ 2009

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

Brick's whole personality fits into the cry: a tank who treats a firefight as a punch-up and wants the enemy to feel it. The Berserker's rage-and-blood barks are what players remember of the original Borderlands' class, and the game's tone, loud, violent and cheerfully dumb, is in every one. Fans quote the berserker's yells at the table when a co-op plan goes loud.

Spoilers for BorderlandsShow the scene

Brick is the Berserker, one of the four playable classes in the original Borderlands (2009): a huge brawler who prefers explosive weapons and heavy melee, and whose Berserk rage state boosts his punches. He is voiced by Marcus Mauldin and returns as a non-player character in Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel, Tales from the Borderlands and Borderlands 3. The Borderlands wiki's full list of his Borderlands voice barks has him greeting a new game with lines like "Time to pound somethin'!" and shouting "KILL!", "MORE!" and "BLOOD!" while berserk, but this exact phrase does not appear in it.
