Larry Laffer

Ken sent me.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

It is a password so casual it works as a gag: you are not clever for knowing it, you just read the bathroom wall. The Ken in question runs the company that made the game, so the code to get in doubles as a wink at the boss. Fans quote it for any "who sent you?" moment, and the phrase outlived the text parser it was typed into.

Spoilers for Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge LizardsShow the scene

In Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards (Sierra, 1987), Larry Laffer has to get past a man guarding a door in a bar. The password is found as graffiti in the bar's bathroom, so a player who skips the toilet is stuck. Typing "Ken sent me" at the door lets Larry up the stairs. Ken is a nod to Sierra founder Ken Williams, who had asked designer Al Lowe to make a full-colour animated game on the theme of the company's old adult text adventure, Softporn Adventure.
