Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
It is the villain's taunt at its most pure: two seconds of contempt aimed at a raid that has spent weeks preparing for this very fight. It outlived the boss, becoming a general-purpose reply to anyone unready, from a fight pull to a Monday morning. Players still use it as a catchphrase, and Blizzard has kept winking at it, giving Illidan variants in later content where he acknowledges the heroes as prepared at last.

Spoilers for World of Warcraft: The Burning CrusadeShow the scene
In The Burning Crusade (2007), the Black Temple raid ends with Illidan Stormrage, the demon-hunter Betrayer and self-styled Lord of Outland, in his own sanctum. Akama, the broken elder who has secretly turned against him, leads the raid in. After a long exchange in which Illidan mocks the intruders, Akama declares the time has come. Illidan's last words before the fight begins are this shout: it is his aggro line, and it opens stage one, which the encounter itself is named after. Akama and the raid then face Illidan and his Illidari minions.
