Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Ian Malcolm’s warning captures the weakness in a plan to make nature behave exactly as intended. Jurassic Park turns that confidence into danger: living things are not fixed objects that stay within the limits set for them. The line is ominous in the film, but it also carries a sense of resilience. Life keeps opening possibilities that its designers did not account for.
