Just think Ms. Renie, that same moon shinin' on me this very minute is shinin' down on Pete's tomatoes!

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker delights in the thought that the same moon shines both on her and on Pete's tomatoes. That shared light connects an immediate experience with something elsewhere. The homely detail of the tomatoes gives the observation its charm, bringing a large celestial image down to everyday scale.
