The plaque for the alternates is down in the ladies room.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker places recognition for alternates in the ladies room rather than presenting it as a public honour. Read as a taunt, the direction tries to diminish second-place status through its chosen location. That dismissive comparison belongs to the speaker's put-down, rather than establishing anything about the people targeted.
