Admiral Collingwood

Nature has sown in man the seeds of knowledge; but they must be cultivated, to produce fruit.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

Collingwood says people are born with the seeds of knowledge, but seeds alone aren't enough. They have to be tended before they produce anything worth having. Learning takes effort, like gardening, and the fruit arrives only after that care.
