I'm not going to vacuum 'til Sears makes one you can ride on.
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker refuses to vacuum until a version exists that can be ridden. The condition turns reluctance about a household chore into an extravagant demand for convenience. One reading is that the joke makes delaying the work sound like waiting patiently for the right invention.
