I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
You only get one trip through life, so kindness shouldn't wait. Grellet urges doing any good you can right now instead of putting it off. Since the road only goes one way, the chance won't come round again.
