Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Three flat words, delivered like a man who has stopped being surprised by anything. It is Geralt in miniature: gruff, laconic and deadpan, finding the one dry thing to say while the world falls apart around him. Fans quote it as shorthand for his weary, understated humour and as a mood, the sort of thing you say in a bleak moment when there is nothing to do but note the weather.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (CD Projekt Red, released 19 May 2015) casts you as Geralt of Rivia, the white-haired witcher who hunts monsters for coin. Voiced in English by Doug Cockle, Geralt is on a long search across a war-torn continent for Ciri, the adopted daughter he raised, while the spectral Wild Hunt hunts her too. On the road he is a man of few words and dry comments, and this bare three-word remark about the weather is one of the understated asides players hear him mutter as he travels.
