Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The line is a villain's own death sentence. Boris is such a smug hacker that the film earns the right to freeze him mid-boast, and fans quote it as the perfect joke about hubris: say it just before everything goes wrong. It also made Alan Cumming's twitchy, pen-clicking Boris the most beloved henchman of the Pierce Brosnan era.

Spoilers for GoldenEyeShow the scene
In GoldenEye (1995), Boris Grishenko is the cocky Russian programmer at the Severnaya satellite station who sells out his colleagues to Alec Trevelyan's Janus syndicate. He crows this line whenever he finishes a task at the keyboard, a running gag for the character. At the climax, in Trevelyan's hidden base in Cuba, the satellite dish crashes and the base blows up around him. Boris crawls out of the wreckage and boasts that he is invincible, just as canisters of liquid nitrogen burst behind him and freeze him solid.
