You can't drown, you fool! You're immortal!
— Highlander · 1986
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker scolds someone for worrying about drowning, insisting it cannot happen because they are immortal. The exasperated 'you fool' turns the danger into an absurdity, so the line sounds comic: the person is told to stop panicking about a death the speaker says is impossible for them.
