Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
For a War Boy, being witnessed is the point: a death seen and shouted becomes a passage to Valhalla. Nux asking for witnesses is what makes the line sad as well as thrilling, and it is now a battle cry for fans and a caption for any grand, gleeful gesture.

The cry runs through Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). Nux, the War Boy who joins Immortan Joe's pursuit of the War Rig with Max strapped to his car, yells it during that first chase, asking his Blood Bag to watch him earn a place in Valhalla. He yells it again at the climax, when the group has escaped Joe and driven the stolen truck back toward the Citadel. Nux wrecks the Rig to block the canyon behind them, killing the enforcer Rictus, and his sacrifice is the line's final, definitive use.
