I'm watching you, Wazowski. Always watching. Always.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Roz is the dreaded office jobsworth who knows exactly where every form is, and the line captures the dread of a boss who never forgets. It hits twice because the audience later learns she meant it literally, as the head of the secret agency. Fans use it as a deadpan threat on office doors, emails about timesheets, and anyone who knows you skipped something.

Spoilers for Monsters, Inc.Show the scene
Early in Monsters, Inc., Mike Wazowski drops by the office of Roz, the slug-like clerk who guards the paperwork for Scare Floor F, to collect the day's files. Roz reminds him that his paperwork was not handed in last night and warns him not to let it happen again. As Mike turns to leave, she tells him she is watching him, always watching, and he mutters that she is nuts. The joke pays off at the end, when Roz turns out to be Agent 001 of the Child Detection Agency, who has spent two and a half years undercover inside the company. Pixar story artist Bob Peterson voices her.
