Welcome to Hell, Parson!

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

The speaker greets a member of the clergy with a sarcastic welcome to Hell. The courtesy of a greeting is turned into a mocking warning, as though the place is miserable and the newcomer is about to learn it. The tone is gleefully hostile rather than friendly.
