Ivan Drago

If he dies, he dies.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

This is the moment Drago stops being a curiosity and becomes the villain. He is mechanical throughout, and this is the one human-sounding thing he does: a refusal to feel anything. Fans use it as a deadpan brush-off for any disaster that someone else is dealing with, and it sets up the revenge story of the second half.
