Prepare ship for light speed!
— Spaceballs · 1987
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The command turns an extraordinary speed into the next item of business aboard a ship. Sandurz gives no explanation or expression of wonder; he simply orders preparation. That brisk wording treats a journey at light speed as something a crew should be ready to carry out.
