'Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.' is half script, half improvisation: the screenplay had only the gun, and the cannoli half is credited to Richard Castellano on the day. The offer-he-can't-refuse line runs in the family -- Vito says it, Michael quotes it -- and the American Film Institute ranked it the second-greatest movie quote of all time, behind only Gone with the Wind.
