You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker claims that hunting for a definition of happiness or a meaning of life defeats itself. Constant searching keeps you standing outside experience. Happiness and living, on this view, come from actually engaging with life rather than analysing it from the sidelines.
