The Land of Ooo's oath, Adventure Time
Oh my Glob!
— Adventure Time · 2010
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
A one-word swap makes a whole world: Ooo has its own gods, and its characters take their names in vain without a second thought. The substitute is tuned so a child can say it on playgrounds and parents still hear the original. It became the show's easiest tell, and fans type it (or OMGlob) as readily as the real phrase.

Spoilers for Adventure TimeShow the scene
In Adventure Time's Land of Ooo, "Glob" stands where "God" would be, so "Oh my Glob!" is what everyone shouts when startled or thrilled. The Adventure Time Wiki traces an early use to Lumpy Space Princess in "Trouble in Lumpy Space" (second episode, 5 April 2010), when her friend Melissa reminds her of the weekly promcoming dance. Finn gasps it after the Candy Zombies attack in "From Bad to Worse", and Jake swaps in "Grod" and "Gob". Later episodes reveal Glob as one of four Martian deities sharing one body, Grob Gob Glob Grod.
