This isn’t some fairy tale. When I kiss you, you don’t wake up from a deep sleep and live happily ever after.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Angel refuses the comforting promise that a kiss can resolve every difficulty. The familiar fairy-tale ending is raised only to be withdrawn. Affection may be real, but the line insists that it cannot guarantee safety, simplicity or a future in which every problem disappears.
