I’d forgotten I was different- until I was so thoughtfully reminded.
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker says they had let themselves forget that they were different, until someone reminded them. The word 'thoughtfully' is plainly ironic, turning a supposed kindness into a sting and suggesting the reminder was unwelcome and pointed rather than considerate.
