The NERV insignia carries a shortened quotation from Robert Browning’s Pippa Passes. In Evangelion it is institutional written language, rather than a catchphrase spoken by one character. Its assurance sits uneasily beside NERV’s secret purposes and the danger surrounding Tokyo-3.
