I want to live!

— One Piece  ·  1999

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

For a woman who was hunted from the age of eight and told she had no right to exist, asking to live is the hardest thing she can say. The line is Robin finally choosing a place among friends, and it is the emotional peak of the Straw Hats' rescue. Fans use it as shorthand for the moment a lone character stops running and says what they want.
