Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
It is the second of the pair every Doom player knows, and the one that makes you a walking arsenal. The letters read like a keyboard mash, which is part of the charm; fans treat it as a rite of passage, typed from muscle memory. It became the shorthand for "give me everything" in later games and fan tributes.

Spoilers for DoomShow the scene
IDKFA is the Doom cheat that gives the player everything: full megaarmor protection at 200 percent, all weapons, full ammunition and every key. A sibling code, IDFA, does the same without the keys. As with the other typed codes, it is disabled on the Nightmare! difficulty. On French AZERTY keyboards the code may need to be typed as IDKFQ, because of the different key layout.
