At the end of Halo 3, Master Chief is ready to enter cryo-sleep and leaves Cortana with a simple request. The long fight pauses, but the invitation to call him back keeps the ending open. The line offers trust as much as weariness: someone else will know when it is time to return. This entry follows the original 2007 game, rather than treating later callbacks as its source.
