A new hand touches the beacon.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
An apparently ordinary piece of loot suddenly makes the player answerable to a god. The quiet act of picking something up becomes a loud commission. That abrupt change from scavenging to being commanded is what gives the short announcement its comic force.

Meridia speaks when the player happens upon her beacon in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011). Her address calls the finder into The Break of Dawn and orders them to return the object to Mount Kilkreath to cleanse her temple. Finding her shrine first produces a different introduction, so this wording belongs specifically to discovering the beacon by chance.
