Miraak

And so the First Dragonborn meets the Last Dragonborn at the summit of Apocrypha.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

The paired titles make the fight sound like history closing a circle. Miraak treats the player as both a rival and the means of his own liberation. The ceremonial introduction gives a personal battle the scale of two ends of the same legend meeting.

Miraak says this at the summit of Apocrypha during the final confrontation of Dragonborn (2012), the Skyrim expansion. The player arrives on Sahrotaar, and Miraak frames their meeting as Hermaeus Mora's design. His following threat explains the stakes: he intends to use the Last Dragonborn's soul to escape the realm and return to Solstheim.
