You know, the elderly, although slow, and dangerous behind the wheel, can serve a purpose. Don't you go dying on me now.

What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker begins with an unflattering generalisation about older drivers, then insists older people still serve a purpose. The closing plea not to die makes the supposed reassurance especially awkward. One reading is that the humour lies in encouragement repeatedly undermined by the speaker's own words.
