Words don’t taste good, they don’t smell good, they don’t keep you warm at night, in fact, words never really leave the mind, do they?

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Words are measured against touch, taste, smell and warmth, and found unable to provide those bodily comforts. The questions express frustration with language’s limits rather than its absence. Something can remain vivid in the mind while failing to offer the physical closeness or reassurance a person needs.
