Don't steal anything. If I come back here and anything's missing, I'm going straight to the police. I mean it.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The warning leaves little room for misunderstanding: nothing should be stolen. The speaker says that anything missing on their return will prompt a visit to the police. Repeating that they mean it makes the distrust especially clear.
