A whole bottle of pills! My God, get an ambulance!
— The Odd Couple · 1968
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The mention of an entire bottle of pills is followed immediately by a demand for an ambulance. Quantity gives the reaction its urgency, and the instruction turns alarm into a call for help. The wording does not establish how the pills were discovered or what happened beforehand.
