I'm telling you this guy is protected from up on high by the Prince of Darkness.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker claims that someone's protection comes from the Prince of Darkness. The grand supernatural explanation gives the person's apparent security a sinister source. The phrase from up on high adds a striking contrast, borrowing the language of elevated authority for a claim about dark patronage.
