My mummy used to sing to me to sleep...I wonder what your mummy will sing when they find your body?
— Buffy the Vampire Slayer ‧ 1997
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Druscilla turns a memory of being sung to sleep into a threat about the listener’s mother finding a body. The cruel reversal is menacing rather than comforting; it does not establish that a death occurs.
