Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The line is built to be cut off. Chandler breaks off mid-word and lets the audience supply the rest, and the punchline is a single flat word. The comedy is Chandler's outrage against Joey's loyal denial, and Ross's prison crack seals it. It is among the more quoted season-two jokes, and fans often still recite it as the trailing-off line.

Spoilers for FriendsShow the scene
In 'The One with Ross's New Girlfriend' (Friends, season 2, 1995), Chandler needs a suit made and Joey sends him to the family tailor, Frankie. Chandler comes back rattled and tells Joey and Ross that the tailor said he was going to do his inseam, ran a hand up his leg and then, well, definitely. Joey insists that is simply how pants are measured, and Ross tells him that is how it is done in prison.
