I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold.

What it means

Our interpretation.

Warm or cold is a bounty hunter's way of saying alive or frozen, delivered flat and without menace, which tells you who this man is in his first scene. It set the tone for a series built on terse professionals and Western stand-offs. Fans quote it for any ultimatum, and the choice sets up a hunter whose story is about what he will and won't hand over.

Spoilers for The MandalorianShow the scene

The line comes in the opening scene of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" (premiered November 12, 2019; written by Jon Favreau, directed by Dave Filoni). On the icy planet Pagodon, the armoured bounty hunter, not yet named, walks into a bar, deals with the two trawlers menacing a blue-skinned Mythrol, and shows him a hologram proving he is wanted. The Mythrol claims a misunderstanding and tries to bribe his way out. The Mandalorian is unmoved and says he can bring him in warm or cold; the Mythrol later ends up frozen in carbonite.
