You wrapped this scarf around me. Thank you. / I'll wrap that around you... as many times as you want.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

Mikasa’s gratitude sounds like a goodbye, but Eren answers it as a promise of a future. The scarf turns their shared history into something he insists must continue.

Spoilers for Attack on TitanShow the scene

After Hannes’s death, surrounded by Titans, Mikasa thanks Eren for giving her the scarf and a reason to go on. Eren answers by promising to wrap it around her again, then stands to protect her. Chapter 50 becomes episode 37, “Scream”; this card joins their two short turns in the archived subtitle wording, whose reply says “that” rather than repeating “scarf.”
