Spoilers for One PieceShow the scene
As Shanks leaves Foosha Village, he places his treasured straw hat on Luffy’s head and makes their future reunion a promise. The scene appears in chapter 1 and episode 4. This short fan translation preserves the act of entrusting; the archived anime subtitles use “I’ll leave this hat with you” and ask Luffy to return it when he has become a great pirate.
