Thorfinn

Come with me, my brother. We're going to make a land of peace in Vinland.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

It is the point where Thorfinn stops being a man who only runs from his past and becomes a man with somewhere to go. The line is an offer between two former enemies who have found the same grief, and it names the dream the whole story has been working toward. Fans quote it as the series' mission statement, and Vinland as an ideal place without war and slavery has become the shorthand for the show's hope.
