A magician wandered along the beach, but no one needed him.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

A performer of wonders wanders along the shore, yet nobody has any use for what he can do. The line is quietly comic and a little forlorn, treating magic as a talent with no demand, and suggesting how easily wonder is overlooked when nobody feels a need.
