Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The laugh is Papyrus in miniature: a villain's cackle from someone who is the kindest monster in the Underground and has never schemed anything worse than a spaghetti dinner. Fans quote it for any chest-puffing, wildly overconfident moment, and its capital-letter, Papyrus-font spelling is the standard way to type it.

Spoilers for UndertaleShow the scene
Papyrus is Sans's tall, scarf-wearing skeleton brother in Undertale (Toby Fox, released 15 September 2015 on Windows and macOS). He first appears in Snowdin Forest, arriving to scold Sans for going eight days without recalibrating his puzzles, and then gives a long speech about capturing a human to join the Royal Guard. The "Nyeh heh heh!" laugh is his trademark, delivered at the end of his boasts and plans; it is also the name of his leitmotif, a 32-second track in C minor that plays when you first meet him, during his puzzles and at the start of his battle.
