Thor

Bring me Thanos!

— Avengers: Infinity War  ·  2018

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

It is the most gloriously blunt sentence in the film. After a whole movie of Thanos winning, Thor's arrival changes the mood in the cinema, and the line is a promise, not a threat. It pays off the grief of the opening scene, and sits ironically beside the finale, in which Thor does hit Thanos and still loses. It is a staple of fan edits and of anyone demanding to speak to the person in charge.

Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity WarShow the scene

The Battle of Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) is going badly for the Avengers. Bruce Banner, fighting in the Hulkbuster armour because the Hulk will not come out, is among those outnumbered by Thanos's army. Thor arrives with Rocket and Groot, carrying Stormbreaker, the axe they had Eitri forge at Nidavellir. Banner, seeing him, crows that the enemy are screwed now, and Thor shouts for Thanos. He and the Avengers rout the army, but Thanos has not yet reached the field. Thor later wounds him with Stormbreaker, but too late.
