Love is putting someone else's needs before yours.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

The film's moral said by its silliest character. A snowman who loves summer and doesn't understand much else gives the cleanest definition of love in the whole movie, and then proves it by staying close to a warmth that will melt him. It is the line parents and teachers quote when they want the Frozen message in one sentence.

Spoilers for FrozenShow the scene

Deep in the final act of Frozen, Anna is freezing after Hans has left her to die in the castle. Olaf has come back to find her, though the warmth of the room is starting to melt him. Anna tells him he should leave, but he refuses to go until they find another act of true love to save her. She admits she doesn't really know what love is. Olaf gives the answer, citing Kristoff, who brought her back to Hans and left, and adds that some people are worth melting for. Josh Gad voices Olaf.
